Our House Before
These past few months has been very busy around the house for the Beadnell crew. We started off with an extension to my shop. So far I've just got the generator pit in and the floor on. The walls and roof will have to wait until Winter or maybe even summer.
Shop Generator Pit and floor

Next up was a complete re-roof for the house. Thanks to Jeff, Connor, Shawn, Tyler, Nicholas, & Terry for all of their hard work. We tore off all of the old 3tab comp shingles, added gable bump out to the front, added some 2x4 outlookers to all of the overhangs, put an additional layer of plywood on then put the new architectural comp shingles on. (Did I mention it was in the high 90's during all of this?)

Reroofing
And then we decided to paint the house. The new colors (picked out by Jaime) really go well together and it is a nice change from the blah gray it was. The new front porch got T&G pine on the soffit and stained shingles on the gable. We just got gutters put on to match the red trim.

Building the front gable
I'm now in the process of rebuilding the rear patio cover. We tore it down for the re-roofing project because it was a bit undersized for the snow we got the last season and a few of the rafters snapped with the weight, also it was attached to the fascia and was a little lower than i preferred. So now it's getting 2x6 rafters (instead of 2x4) on top of 4x6 beams (instead of 2-2x4). It should be a much better design in the long run.

To save some money we decided to ditch the expensive digital cable TV (of which we only watched the local channels anyway) and get an antenna. Now we receive FREE HD local channels, yes free high definition. We do miss the DVR, but we have a DVD recorder so we don't miss the must see shows (which we've slimmed down to House, Shark Tank, Glee, ANTM, Fringe, Flash Forward,Vampire Diaries, and coming soon LOST & V).

In other news, the girls are growing up faster than ever. I'll be posting more pics on our website the first of the month (as always).

Well, It's been a long time since I last posted. It seems time is harder to come by and Facebook seems to be a little easier to do. If you haven't signed up for Facebook, you should check it out.

I've been reading quite a bit on my lunch hour at work. Some of my favorites recently are The Road, Cell, World War Z, The Gone Away World, The Lost Symbol, Deception Point.

I hope this finds you well, until next time....

I hooked up the Wii to my laptop (www.Playon.tv) so we can stream Netflix, Hulu and YouTube, etc on the TV. Cool. Check it out, also works on PS3 and XBox 360.
